Volunteer With Us!

Leavenworth County Humane Society, Inc. relies on volunteers to help with all day to day operations!!

Adults 18 and older may volunteer independently. Those between 12 and 18 may volunteer with a parent or guardian.  Shifts are every day-- mid-day and evening.  Most shifts last a couple of hours, or longer, based on the number of animals in our care at the shelter.

Click the button below to fill out a volunteer application online or come by during open hours to submit one in person!

What will I do as
a volunteer?

Volunteering with LCHS, Inc. can mean a variety of things! Most volunteers are most interested in helping us with animal care shifts which involves socializing the pets outside of their kennels, keeping their areas nice and tidy, and serving up treats or meals! Other things may include transportation of goods to other organizations or pets to vet visits, helping with events and fundraisers, maintenance projects around the building to keep it fresh and safe for everyone, and so much more! The best part is knowing that you are making a difference in the life of every pet who comes into the building!
