We’re grateful for donations – whether monetary or in-kind.
Donations of items are called “in-kind” donations, and they save us money because we don’t have to BUY these items we use most often.
We keep items we are in need of up to date on our Amazon Wish List

Volunteer with Us
Leavenworth County Humane Society, Inc. relies on volunteers to do everything!!
Adults 18 and older may volunteer independently. Those between 12 and 18 may volunteer with a parent or guardian. Shifts are every day, mid-day and evening. Most shifts last a couple of hours, or longer, based on the number of animals in our care at the shelter.
Download an application and email us, or come by during open hours.
Foster homes keep pets in their homes, help with training, take them to veterinary appointments. They provide food and litter, but we can help with that if we need to. We can send a litter box, crate. We send leashes for dogs and collars/tags for dogs and cats. We provide prevention against fleas/ticks/heartworm.
Foster homes treat pets like their own and ENABLE us to get them into those forever homes.
Email us if you have questions, or would like to give it a try!
