Not every story starts in the spotlight. Some begin with a lost pet, a tiny meow, or a hopeful tail wag. Here at the Leavenworth County Humane Society located in Lansing, Kansas we’ve seen it all— the heartbreaks, the second chances, and the transformations worthy of their own love songs.
Earlier this year, our own story almost came to an end. After years of caring for the animals who needed us most, we faced the unthinkable— the possibility of having to close our doors for good. But then, just like the best plot twist, everyone showed up with their support and generosity.
Our community rallied around us, proving that kindness never goes out of style. Because of that support, we were able to stay open. Because of you, we’ve been able to help over 150 dogs and cats in their quests for new homes, new families, and new beginnings. That doesn’t mean that we aren't struggling, but we will always continue to help the pets that need it most with whatever we have.
Now, we’re inviting you to be part of our next chapter with a fundraiser that’s pure showgirl shimmer! Enter The Life of a Shelter Pet Sweepstakes for the chance to win one of two gorgeous vinyl variants of Taylor Swift’s new album The Life of a Showgirl, or one of two CD editions that come with a hand-signed insert from Taylor herself! Every entry supports our shelter’s mission to provide food, medical care, and safety to animals who deserve their own happily ever after and it gives you the opportunity to walk away with a very special and limited edition piece of merchandise!
