Closed to the Public - 6.19.

The Leavenworth County Humane Society will be closed to the public on Thursday, June 19th in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.

Although the shelter will not be open to visitors, our dedicated staff and volunteers will still be here making sure all of our animals are safe, happy, and well cared for. We will remain available to all of our animal control and law enforcement partners. We’ll resume our normal hours of on Friday, June 20th.

A note for our current and future volunteers:

On this day, we will also be starting the process of transitioning to a new volunteer software system to better support our amazing team. (More information regarding the transition will be made available to current volunteers in the coming days.) Due to this, there may be a slight delay in scheduling orientations and responding to new volunteer inquiries as we make the swap and finish our admin training. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to make the volunteer experience even better for everyone!
