Happy DOGust 1st!

Did you know August 1st is the unofficial birthday for shelter dogs everywhere? DOGust was started by North Shore Animal League America  as a way to give shelter pets everywhere a special day to celebrate, especially those whose actual birthdays are unknown.

Many pets who come into shelters like ours arrive with little to no information about their past. Sometimes we don’t know their exact birthday, or even if they’ve ever had one to celebrate. DOGust gives us the perfect excuse to make sure they get one!

So, of course, we had to join the party! Our adoptable dogs and cats got to celebrate with some very special birthday cupcakes (and we think they make some pretty adorable party guests!)

Here’s to all the shelter pets everywhere celebrating DOGust today! May their day be filled with extra treats, lots of love, and hopefully a forever family is just around the corner. ❤️
