Ridley Needs Your Help!

Ridley had a very scary morning. He made a midnight snack out of his blanket overnight. This morning he was clearly miserable, had severe diarrhea, and was vomiting. Off to AcuteVet for emergency care we go!

X-rays show Ridley needed emergency surgery to remove the blanket and unkink his intestines. The veterinary team has also recommended a gastropexy to help reduce his risk of experiencing bloat in the future.

This is a life-saving procedure and Ridley will need to remain in AcuteVet’s care for another 24 to 48 hours after surgery. The current estimate for his care is $4,800. This is substantial and completely unexpected, but Ridley needs this care and he is worth saving!

If you are able to help Ridley, every contribution, no matter the size, helps us get one step closer to covering his life-saving treatment. Please keep Ridley in your thoughts. We’ll share updates as we have them. Should the amount raised go over his bill, we’ll apply it to veterinary care for others at the shelter.

Donations can be made online here: https://givebutter.com/lchsinc-donate (be sure to leave a note telling us it's for Ridley's care.)

Thank you for helping us be there for Ridley when this mischievous boy needs us most.

UPDATE 9/2: Ridley's surgery went well and he is doing great. He will be on strict cage rest while he recovers, but he is doing good and will be back with us later today. Thank you for all of his well wishes and for the contributions to his care. He (and we) appreciate it greatly.
